WATCH: Eric Prydz plays 'Call On Me' for first time in 20 years after calling it 'cringe'

“I hear the video, and I see the video, and it still seems surreal.”

A staple in our George Club Classics playlist is none other than ‘Call On Me’ by Swedish DJ and producer, Eric Prydz. A 2004 House music banger that had been put on the back burner by the creator himself; until now…

Yesterday on George Drive’s music news, Sin dropped some intel on the oh so recognised tune.

It’s so surprising to me that it’s been over 20 years since he’s played that tune. The tune that made him famous.

According to the Internet, the last known time he played the tune was at an Ibiza show in 2004. When he was asked why he stopped including the track in his sets,  he said it made him "cringe".

The record is so old now... it brings back a lot of memories for me, a lot of good memories,

he said.

But, you know, I never really saw it as my record. …It’s a sample that’s been cut up and some drums and bass added.

People who don’t know what I do maybe expect it to hear it when I DJ. Will I never play it again? Maybe I will, maybe I won’t,

he added.

Well, turns out the time has come. A video popped up on reddit showing the DJ playing ‘Call On Me’ at his ‘20 Years Of Prydz’ gig in Austin Texas WHEN? The video shows A LOT of lasers and phones in the air as people are taken by surprise.

Redditors were also caught off guard.

“Love how you can hear a guy going 'no fucking way' leading up to the drop,” one comment said.  “I hear the video, and I see the video, and it still seems surreal," wrote another.  “Is Eric okay?” one person asked, while another said: “What next? Daft Punk reunion and concert??”

Now that wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card. The world is healing <3
