A brand spanking new countdown hit the airwaves of George FM this year. The George Biggest 1000 Countdown, energised by Mānuka Phuel, gained itself the title of “our biggest countdown ever”.
With 500 more tunes than any previous countdown, it was a helluva time hearing all the new and old catalogue of George.
After two weeks of absolute heater after heater, there was only one king of the countdown:
‘BACKBONE’ by Chase & Status and Stormzy!
The highly anticipated collab hit the charts August 8th last year and flew up the ranks giving Chase & Status their first UK No. 1 single.
In an interview with ‘Official UK Charts’, Chase & Status said:
We knew that connecting with Stormzy was going to create something special, but we didn’t expect a KO reaction like this.
And it doesn't stop there!
The #2 slot in the Biggest 1000 Countdown went to…(drum roll pleaseeee)... Chase & Status - again!
‘Baddadan’ by Bou and Chase & Status has kept its momentum since dropping in 2023 and taking the DNB world by storm.
Following those hefty tracks was the tune of the summer with ‘The Days (Notion Remix)’ by Chrystal and NOTION.
