Vinnie Paul’s posthumous cookbook ‘Drumming Up an Appetite’ has been released

Vinnie Paul was working on the cookbook years before his death, and it's finally here.

A cookbook by the late, great Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul has been posthumously released, titled Drumming Up An Appetite

The cookbook commemorates the Pantera, Damageplan and Hellyeah legend’s Sunday Funday dinners - a tradition where he’d invite his mates over to his home, fire up the grill and serve up epic feasts of steaks, barbecue, and classic Southern comfort food.

Those Sunday Funday dinners are now immortalized in a 70-page cookbook with three chapters, all complete with a Pantera pun for a different part of each meal. Main Courses are dubbed Reinventing the Meal, side dishes are Far Beyond Kitchen, and desserts? A Vulgar Display of Flour.

The project has been in the works for the last decade, and is something the late legend had been working on since before his death in 2018.

"My cookbook will be called Drumming Up an Appetite With Vinnie Paul. How clever is that? It's got a picture of me sitting behind a drum set. I'm holding two turkey legs, which are otherwise known as drum sticks!” Paul said back in 2015.

That idea has now come to life - with the cover of the cookbook being exactly what he’d described.

"It's all about cooking and having fun with it," Vinnie added at the time. "A lot of people think cooking is throwing something in the microwave. It's something that you've really got to be passionate about, just like playing an instrument.

“If you put your heart and soul into it, and then you feed it to people, and you're, 'Oh, man! This is so good.' It makes you feel good. It's just like playing music; [people say] 'Goddamn, I love this shit!'"

Drumming Up An Appetite with Vinnie Paul is available to buy now at the 72 webstore.

What an epic way to celebrate the late legend - a tribute to the man, his music, and his passion for a damn good meal.
