The 'Minecraft Movie' is almost here and has already given us Kiwis so much to be excited about, including a brand-new Nether-inspired McDonald's NZ menu item.
We’ve already seen the craze over Minecraft Cubeez and the playable NZ map within the game, but now we can get a taste of what Steve and his mates would dip their nuggets in - if someone were to build the golden arches in the game.
The day before the film drops on April 3rd, McDonald’s is launching a new hot sauce, and it sounds fiery enough to light our torches.

Inspired by The Nether - a dimension filled with fire and lava - the new hot sauce contains red and cayenne peppers with a sweet garlic taste.
I’m imagining a sweet and sour sauce fell into the lava, and we’ll feel the burn. Something tells me it might be for the brave, but I’ve never shied away from a challenge.
It’s not just the hot sauce that’s escaped the computer screen - new pixelated packaging and a bunch of collectible toys will be dropping the same day.
Six characters will be up for grabs when you buy from a bunch of classic meals and Happy Meals - It’s for everyone, big and little.
The mining collectibles include the Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, and Zombie Hamburglar.
Each collectible comes with a matching card and a code that fans can scan to unlock the exclusive skin in the Minecraft Marketplace.
If the Minecraft Cubeez craze was anything to go by, these things are gonna be hot property! Especially knowing you could make a quick buck or two down the line.
Remember when McDonald's released the limited edition Szechuan sauce back in 2020? Packets of the stuff ended up marketplaces with sellers hoping for as much as $2000 for the dipping sauce.
Between the new hot sauce and collectibles, there's plenty of opportunity to make some extra cash on the side of your meal.
