Lindt chocolate announce first new Gold Bunny flavour in 10 years

Just in time for Easter!

If you’re a fan of Easter chocolate (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), there’s a new bunny in NZ.

For the first time since 2015, Lindt has dropped a fresh flavour of its classic Gold Bunny – and it’s both salty and sweet.

The new Salted Caramel Golden Bunny uses the same milk chocolate we know and love, but it’s packed with buttery caramel bits and a hint of sea salt.

With its signature gold foil, blue ribbon, and little bell, the new bunny still looks the part.

It’s gonna be hard to stop me from devouring the whole thing in one go.

And yes, I’m the weirdo who will wait until all the chocolate has melted in my mouth before biting down on the leftover crunchies.

While it might not seem too inventive, Salted Caramel is a great choice for the new flavour.

It’s a go-to for ice creams and our oat milk lattes, so why not make it a new staple in the golden bunny lineup?

After all, Lindt’s been making these Easter treats for over 70 years, so they're the experts - sometimes it's best to enjoy the simple things and caramel is definitely one of them.

Lindt’s Master Chocolatier, Thomas Schnetzler, reckons they’ve nailed the choice: “Salted caramel is one of the most loved flavour combinations, and we’re thrilled to introduce it.”

He describes it as a “luxurious richness” with “deep complexity.”

So, in a fancy shmancy way, he means it's GOOD good!

There’s still a few weeks ‘til the Easter bunny officially arrives, but for those of us who can’t wait, they’re on shelves around the country now.
