WATCH: Dom Dolla shuts down New Orleans' Bourbon Street with hectic pop up gig

“Almost died, but worth it.”

New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street was deemed a "security risk" over the weekend because of one Aussie larakin causing a fuss in celebration of the Super Bowl.

DJ Dom Dolla was in the US for Sports Illustrated Big Game Weekend alongside Diplo. The official gig and looked insane, but clearly that wasn't enough for Dom.

Joined by American DJ John Summit, Dom threw a street pop up gig with the Tequila brand Don Julio, that ended after only 28 minutes, due to the massive amount of people that showed.

The two DJs went b2b on a balcony facing thousands of amped up party people and were even joined by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook.

Tim Cook throwing up a peace sign beside John summit was not on my 2025 bingo card 😭

A video from 9news states Dom Dolla “caused a stir in New Orleans… drawing such a crowd to his Bourbon Street gig.”

Security guards were seen moving in on the DJs telling them that the event was a “security issue” and to “shut it down”.

The pair didn’t seem to be too phased by law enforcement, and simply dapped up their crew who said “you killed it” as the party ended. Dom Dollar's Instagram post also documented the unreal scenes.

Some news outlets called the event  a “surprise” set, hinting that it was unauthorised, but Dom Dolla set the record straight with his comment:

“PS. for anybody concerned: Don Julio had approval from the city, safety and security measures were in place. The issue was the party got too big and we had to end it early ❤️”

What a way to celebrate a MASSIVE weekend, it’s giving Dunedin Castle street back in the day!
