Fat Freddy's Drop are releasing something sweeter than an album this summer

"It brings together everything we love as a band."

Kiwi legends Fat Freddy’s Drop are mixing things up this summer, and we’re not just talking about their tunes.

While we’re all used to jamming to their sweet sounds on a sunny day, this year, we can jam something a little sweeter into our mouths, ‘cause they’ve created a chocolate bar.

Inspired by their latest album ‘SLO MO’, the FFD bar was made to capture the classic sunny day in Aotearoa.

Made with vegan coconut milk chocolate from Vanuatu cocoa, fresh passionfruit, and toasted coconut, the Passionfruit and Coconut Milk Bar is being dubbed “summer in a bar.”

Turns out the flavour was actually created by Ema Pomare, the wife of FFD keyboardist Iain Gordon, but it got the final stamp of approval after some serious taste-testing by the band.

“Creating this bar brings together everything we love as a band—music, great food, and family,” says Gordon.

With help from the team at Wellington Chocolate Factory, you already know this is going to be de-lish!

And I doubt any of us will have a ‘wandering eye’ when deciding which choccy to take to the next BBQ—see what I did there?

The limited edition chocolate will be available at Fat Freddy’s ‘SLO MO’ album release concerts across Aotearoa and both online and instore at WCF.
