Our friend and award-winning Breeze broadcaster Robert Scott has announced he's hanging up his headphones and taking a well-deserved break, after marking a successful four decades in New Zealand radio.
"Over the summer I celebrated 40 amazing years in radio, which has given me the chance to reflect on my journey," Robert shared. "As a result, I’ve decided it’s time to take a step back."
"I need to hit pause, take a breath, and think about what comes next. I’ve also faced some health challenges, which require my full attention for a while."

The radio host and entertainer began his announcing career in 1985 on Manawatu's 2XS, and has been part of The Breeze since its launch across New Zealand in 2006.
He's been decorated with several New Zealand radio awards, including five wins as Best Music Network Host during his time on The Breeze.
However, Breeze listeners will know Robert best for his cheeky laugh, his passion for New Zealand music, his guitar singalongs, and his ability to pull off a great KISS impression.
He has also been an advocate for coeliac disease awareness, a condition he and his son Sam have been diagnosed with.
Reflecting on his amazing tenure on The Breeze and radio's evolution across the decades, he is filled with awe and pride to be part of the industry.
"I truly love the station and our incredible listeners. But now is the right time for me to focus on my health and figure out what the next chapter holds. I’m really excited for that."

Robert Scott's last on-air break on The Breeze Workday will be Tuesday 25 February.
