Of course the Kiwi who just won NZ TikToker of the Year celebrated with KFC

The only appropriate way to soak in the win!

New Zealand’s very own Lisa Perese-Cullen has taken home the TikTok Creator of the Year award for Aotearoa.

Last night, Sydney turned it on for the annual TikTok AU/NZ Awards, celebrating the second-ever NZ Creator of the Year category.

Lisa’s a ‘Mumtok’ creator who shares short, effortlessly funny, honest clips about her family and home - just life really. She even has her own small underwear business, Harper James.

She’s a busy lady keeping us entertained and hustling biz on the side.

On stage, Lisa said she was stoked to rep New Zealand and thanked her fans for backing her.

"Winning this award is an incredible honour, and I’m so proud to be representing New Zealand/Aotearoa. TikTok has had such a positive impact on my life, allowing me to connect with an amazing global community I truly love. Thank you to everyone who voted for me!"

After the awards Lisa celebrated the best way we know how - with a feed at KFC. She shared a cheeky thank you video, saying she couldn’t believe she’d won, given the “amazing people” she was up against.

Other nominees up for the NZ TikToker Creator of the Year were Oliver Mills (@olviermillsn), Jordan Watson (@howtodad), Torrell Tafa (@torrelltafa) and Nicola Adams (@cwknix).

“I’m so grateful,” Lisa repeatedly thanked her fans for voting for her.

Lisa's win cements her status as one of New Zealand’s most loved creators.

Another Kiwi win came from Gold Coast-based Ilai Matangi (@havea_676), who snagged Comedy Creator of the Year. His hilarious vids and family lessons have earned him 1.5 million followers - myself included in those stats.

If you haven’t checked these two out already, what are you doing?? There’s hours worth of TikTok scrolling to be had.
