Tiger Woods’ caddie Steve Williams tells us the ‘pressure’ of working with ‘once in a lifetime player’

He also took a swing at Bryce’s ‘lack of f*cking talent’.

The Morning Rumble was lucky enough to chat with one of the greatest caddies in Golf history, Steve Williams.

From 1999-2011, Williams worked with Tiger Woods, one of the greatest golfers ever.

For a good chunk of their 12-year stint together, Woods was the top-ranked golfer in the world.

Together, they won 13 major tournaments, including The Masters, the U.S. Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship.

Williams told us about a lot of the pressure he was under at the time. The 61-year-old reminisced on the US Open in 2000, which “Tiger won by 15… a complete ass whooping.”

He wanted to go and celebrate, but Woods made him fly to St Andrews to scope out “every bit of the course” for their next tournament - The British Open. To no surprise, Woods went on to dominate this tournament.

That’s the kind of pressure you run with this guy.

Williams still reflects positively on his experience and acknowledges how amazing it was to work with a guy who’s “created more records in golf than anybody.”

Arguably, he’s the best player that’s ever played the game.

Woods cleans up the history books, standing tied for first in PGA tour wins (82), second in Men’s Major Championships (15), and holds 35 records in the Masters tournament.

Recently, Williams released a book with journalist Evin Priest called ‘Together We Roared’.

Given how consuming the work was, Williams took this as an opportunity to properly reflect on the whirlwind years.

He delves into the behind-the-scenes both on and off the course, shares about their friendship, and shows never-before-seen pictures.

“It was a time for me to slow down and appreciate not only Tiger’s success in the majors, but some of the records that he put together.”

It was an amazing career that Williams had, so of course Bryce took no time asking if Williams would like to help him (AKA, rescue his almost unsalvageable golf skills).

Williams, in true Rock fashion, said Bryce has “too much L.O.F.T. (Lack of F*cking Talent)”.
