The All Blacks XV team might’ve got the win against Georgia in France, but it was what happened off the field that won over their fans.
After the final whistle blew, the team went out to celebrate with the crowd - gifting their playing gear to a bunch of French fans.
In an Instagram reel posted to the @allblacks teams page after the game, players Fabian Holland and Kurt Eklund were captured giving their boots out to some of the youngest fans in the crowd.
“They’ll grow into them 🫶,” they captioned the post.
“Thanks All Blacks, [from] my children,” the father of the first two kids who received Holland’s boots wrote on the post.
“Beautiful gesture 🖤,” said another. A third described the moment as “Top 👍”.
And it wasn’t just the little ones who scored a piece of Eklund’s All Blacks XV gear. Another game-goer sporting a Bay of Plenty jersey was thrown the Hooker’s playing shorts.
The real question is, to wash or not to wash that souvenir?!
It truly is unreal to see the love New Zealand rugby continues to get overseas, creating these memorable moments.
“Looking at the fans and all the little kids, I gave my boots to one of the kids that had a jersey, so that was pretty cool, loved it,” Prop Saula Ma'u said in a post-match chat.
The All Blacks XV got the job done against the Georgia side at GGL Stadium in Montpellier, France taking the win 31 - 13.
