This is a first-edition, first-state copy of ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ (Bloomsbury, 1999).

It'll be part of Webb’s upcoming auction, The Estate, and is expected to fetch somewhere between a whopping $5,000 and $8,000.
That’s a fair few Galleons to have lying around. A few of us will be checking the savings account that’s for sure!
Originally purchased in NZ back in 1999, this edition has key hallmarks that make it a collector’s dream, including printing quirks and errors that were later corrected in reprints.
It’s the kind of thing that gets rare book fiends and serious Potter fans seriously fizzed - and this one’s full of ‘em.
If you didn’t already know, first-edition ‘Harry Potter’ books have been skyrocketing in value worldwide, according to Webb’s.
Some copies have gone for massive six-figure prices, and Webb’s has a track record of fetching these sorts of prices for rare finds.

They’re auctions have seen a set of ‘Cook’s Voyages’ first editions going for $131,450, a second edition for $29,8875 and a David Hockney ‘SUMO’ book fetching $4,421.50.
The auction for the first-edition ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ will run online from today, 7th of February, through till the 11th. And you can catch it on display at Webb’s Mount Eden gallery.
