‘I belong there’: Teddy Swims reveals he wants to buy a house in NZ

We’ll happily take him as one of our own.

Teddy Swims is making his way back to New Zealand later this year, with two shows. One in Christchurch, with the other in Auckland this October.

During a chat with Si, Lana & The Breakfast Club, Teddy shared his dream of one day owning a house in New Zealand.

Sharing his love for Aotearoa, he explained, "It is my favorite place in the world. I belong there, it's my home."

With many trips already made, Teddy has built a strong base in New Zealand, saying he’s gained "many lifelong friends there”.

This October, when Teddy takes the stage in New Zealand, he will be a first-time Dad!

“I can’t wait to bring my son to New Zealand,” he said.

Teddy and his partner Raiche Wright announced they’re expecting a child on Instagram earlier this year.

Speaking on how he has handled his rise to fame, Teddy said: "Sometimes you get three hours of sleep, it's 7 a.m. and you're at the airport with people who want to take photos.

“What I've learned to do is tell people where I am at."

He sometimes tells people: "Look dude, I’ve had like three hours of sleep."

More often than not, people respond with kindness and understanding. "You find out how human people are; they say, 'I'm just happy to see you.'"

During his last trip to New Zealand, Teddy joined More FM in surprising a high school in Christchurch with a performance.

We can’t wait to see what he gets up to when he visits his favourite country this October.
