US YouTuber blown away by NZ national anthem ranks it the 'greatest' in the world

His reaction to Te Reo is priceless.

The New Zealand national anthem is something we hold close, and not to be biased, but it’s pretty darn good - and a US streamer agrees.

Popular YouTuber Ludwig filmed a stream ranking different countries' national anthems from around the globe - and while we may be forgotten off many maps, he did include our little country in the corner of the world.

After already ranking 22 countries, it was our time to shine. Ludwig couldn’t hold his reaction back, calling it an “excellent start” from the second the iconic intro played.

Tell me you didn’t hear that and have it take you right back to school assemblies.

“If you told me this was Phil Collins from the new Disney movie, I’d believe it,” he added.

As the anthem began in te reo Māori, he began to really feel the power of the tune.

“Dude…WOW!” he said wide-eyed bopping along the the rhythm. The jaw drops didn’t stop there, he put his hand to his and whispered in awe about “the choir with the backup”.

“This song is crazy,” he admitted only halfway through. He was yet to experience the transition into the English translation.

WE SWITCH TO ENGLISH?!? OH MY, this goes CRAZY hard!

“WHAT A BANGER,” he hyped up the end. “That is by far the single greatest national anthem I have ever heard in my life”.

“I don’t think we’re gonna beat that, I don’t know how we’re gonna beat that,” he added, considering calling the video there.

He told the UK to “take notes”, from the bottom of his ranks, after describing NZ’s as “insane” and “beautiful”.

Well, we’ve already seen Americans react to our haka and some get emotional to Six60 performances, but this might just be my new favourite reaction clip.
