Hyan recently posted a reel on Instagram explaining how this was the bootleg that just kept giving.

Caru & Hyan were smashing out a production session one day when Caru brought up the idea to bootleg Melodownz - ‘8ight 2wenty 8ight’. After whacking together a cheeky 2-step number they dropped it as a free download on Soundcloud via Kiwi label Red Line Records.

A video made its way online of the Hyan x Caru bootleg, which caught the eye of Melodownz. So much so he commented on it, Melo was wanting the instrumental ASAP!
“Fast forward, I get tagged in an Instagram story of him performing it as the intro to his set at Cubadupa. Me & Caru were absolutely gassed!” - Hyan
8 months down the track and Melodownz throws a fresh verse on the track we get what all bootleg-ers are after, an official release!
