$7K for Celery? Moschino’s new food-inspired bags will make you question your salary

These groceries are getting outrageous!!

When your mum told you ‘don’t forget your veggies’, she probably didn’t mean splurging on a celery clutch – but here we are in 2024!

Moschino’s latest accessory line is serving up food-inspired bags with price tags that’ll make you clutch your wallet instead.

We’re talking a bread roll purse, a baguette bag, a paper bag to fit the theme, and of course, the side of a celery clutch.

If you thought groceries were expensive, together, this trolley load is selling for around a whopping $10,907 NZD.

The most expensive of the lot is the ‘Sedano Bag’ inspired by a bunch of celery. It has a digital print to make it look super realistic, with leaves created from two shades of green leather.

This one will set you back around $7,484 NZD. I don’t know about you, but I’m not sold on spending what’s left of my salary on a bunch of celery.

As for the baked goods bags, the ‘Rosetta’ bread roll bag is priced at $1,405 NZD, while the ‘Baguette Bag’ will have gluten lovers screaming at $2,017 NZD.

And just when you thought your wallet couldn’t take any more, the literal paper bag, made from recycled paper and coated in waterproof resin, is selling for $910.

Though, to be fair, I’m getting a good giggle at the thought of carrying your baguette bag in this. It might even call for a cute ‘Emily in Paris’ moment.

That said, I’m sure a New World brown reusable bag and a $3.49 loaf would do the trick just as well.
