Backstreet’s back: Brian Littrell sings with son Baylee during emotional 'American Idol' audition

"He’s 10 times more talented than I ever was."

Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell’s son, Baylee, has proven that vocal chops definitely run in the family after wowing the judging panel on 'American Idol'.

The 22-year-old made his dad proud as he took a shot at launching his own music career.

“There’s something about you that looks familiar,” Carrie Underwood told him before he kicked off his performance.

His video introduction didn’t shy away from his ‘nepo baby’ status - if anything, it highlighted his close bond with his dad during Brian’s Backstreet Boys days.

“This is the new generation of Backstreet Boys,” Brian says in a throwback clip of the two onstage in the early 2000s.

Baylee reckons he got his voice from his dad, but after watching his audition, it’s fair to say he stands out on his own.

“I’ve always told everybody that he’s 10 times more talented than I ever was,” Brian said praising his son.

Baylee performed an original song - one he describes as "emotional" - titled 'Waiting on Myself to Die'.

After wowing the judges, Brian was invited to join his son for a duet, and their harmonies are beyond beautiful.

After locking in three solid yeses from Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie, Brian got all teary eyed.

Baylee absolutely smashed his audition, but he admits he might need to work on his dance moves - unfortunately those weren't passed down the line.

We’re keen to see more from this young star in the making.
