If you're looking for your next twisted true crime fix (be honest, we all are) - this is it: Netflix's upcoming documentary about an abusive, polygamous Mormon cult that preyed on young girls.
'Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey' tells the story of a Texas-based religious sect known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint (FLDS).
The doco follows the rise and fall of the group's leader, Waren Jeffs, who took control of the cult when he was already on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List.
Under his religious dictatorship, Jeffs accumulated 78 wives, 24 of which were underage girls.
"The more wives, the more children you have, the higher in heaven you'll be," one survivor's voice says in the chilling trailer.
More than 400 children were taken into protective custody in 2008 after law enforcement raided Jeffs' ranch on the ground of sexual, physical and psychological abuse. One of the women interviewed for the doco was forced to marry Jeffs when she was just 14.
Netflix documentary-fiends like us have been freaking out over the trailer, with one calling it "sad, sick but so eye-opening to see how one person and a way of life can affect so many".
"The trauma and the twisted realities the kids must have had to go through is unbelievable," said another.
"Sickening and clearly predatory. I always find it interesting how people don't see it when they're in it," a third wrote.
Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey is available on Netflix from 8th June, and we will possibly need the entire weekend free to recover, debrief, and comb through the Wikipedia page.
