One woman left Kehlani’s New Zealand concert with not only a heavier hand but a lifelong memory.
Kristine Kyla headed along with her partner Joyce to celebrate their three-year anniversary and tick off a bucket list concert for Kristine.
Little did she know, she’d get more than just a distant view of the ‘After Hours’ singer. She would receive a whole song dedicated to her and her new fiancé.
Kristine admits she never expected the proposal to happen, let alone get the attention it has after multiple videos of their proposal have gone viral on TikTok.
“I never even expected my partner to do that. But I always knew that when she did, I would say ‘yes,’” Kristine said.
When I turned around and saw her already down on one knee, I knew I’d be spending the rest of my life with this amazing human being.
“I was shocked, crying, and actually shaking from what was happening. It’s funny that I didn’t even know which hand to give because I was just in shock.”
With some help from those around her, Kristine eventually got the ring on her finger, letting it sparkle under the concert lights.

As the crowd cheered, a thrilled Kehlani asked, “Did they get engaged?” before inviting Kristine and Joyce to join her at the front of the stage.
She then blessed their engagement with a stunning cover of Bruno Mars’ ‘Marry You’ before giving them both a tight squeeze and congratulating them on their next chapter.
“What amazed me the most was the crowd showing us all the love and support. I do believe that Kehlani wouldn’t have noticed us if it weren’t for the amazing people surrounding us,” Kristine said.
“It was never my partner’s plan to make it huge - it’s just that the community made it even more special for us,” she added.
I couldn’t be happier, and my heart is full of love. Everything was just unbelievably beautiful.
It’s definitely going to be a night Kristine and Joyce will never forget, and just the beginning of all the forever memories they’re yet to make.
I wonder if Kehlani will pull up to be their wedding singer?!
