It’s no secret that The Breeze loves a good 80s hit, and with The Breeze 400 Countdown kicking off this Monday we’re all eagerly waiting to see which ones will make the cut.
The Breeze 400 countdown will celebrate the biggest songs from the last 40 years, as voted by you, the listeners.
Taking you through from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s to today, we’re going to be playing all your Breeze favourites - starting in 1985.
1985 saw some pretty significant events; USA for Africa produced ‘We Are the World’, Bob Geldof organised Live Aid, The Rainbow Warrior was bombed, the wreckage of the Titanic was discovered, the video game ‘Super Mario’ was released, Back to the Future was in every cinema, and the music was at its best.
Stroll down memory lane with us as we look at 20 songs that were hugely popular in 1985 and have left a lasting mark.
