More lucky Kiwi rock fans will get the chance to see Metallica's 'M72 World Tour' show live with the surprise announcement of extra tickets.
News that the masters of metal would be making their way down under dropped last year, and tickets to their gig at Auckland's Eden Park sold out soon after.
Now, there's more up for grabs - and they're likely to go just as fast. See if you can suss them HERE.
“We will return to Australia and New Zealand after far too long away!!! Stay tuned for the full announcement coming VERY soon.” the band said on their official website in 2024.
The last time James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo were supposed to have performed in New Zealand was back in 2019.
The band ended up cancelling their tour before reaching our shores, as lead singer James Hetfield had - at the time - checked into a recovery programme to deal with addiction issues.
With support from Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies, Metallica will perform at the end of the stadium and will include the infamous Snake Pit extending from the front of the stage.
Since opening April 2023 in Amsterdam, M72 has seen Metallica play to some three million fans.
It's been hailed as “an altogether life-affirming experience” and “the mother of all summer concerts” with one critic calling it “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages”.
If you're not able to get your mitts on these unexpected tickets, never fear - The Rock is one of the few places that still has them, and we're giving them away, so keep an eye and ear out.
Man, just when we thought this night couldn't get any bigger…
