Tammy reveals that he was 'so f*cking nervous' before Fight for Life

"I was so fucking nervous, like, oh, shit, you know, before the fight, dude, I was so nervous."

George FM Breakfast host Tammy Davis sat down with Rock Drive host Jay Reeve to react to their Fight for Life footage. After watching the footage Tammy revealed just how nervous he was before the fight.

Jay and Tammy both agreed that they were inspired to get involved in the fight to set an example for their kids. Tammy said,

"I think the best thing was we got out there, we put and left everything in the ring and we helped raise money for our kids. And that was something that we'd been talking about anyway. over the entire period of getting ready, you know, the lead up to the fight."

"I mean, it wasn't about us, it was about getting in there, setting an example for our kids, for everyone else's kids and putting ourselves in a vulnerable space to be able to support I am hope. and just show that vulnerability"

Jay told Tammy "My kids seeing me get up, go out, train, come back with blood all over my face; enjoy[ing] every second of it. You need to be the example that you want to see in your kids"

"The number of people that have said, Would you do it again? I just think that we got into it for the right reasons."

Tammy revealed that he got a little cheeky during the Fight For Life press conferences as he was trying to have an overinflated ego to cover his nerves.

"I was so fucking nervous, like, oh, shit, you know, before the fight, dude, I was so nervous. And everyone was like, Tammy you okay, loosen up. You fucking loosen up. How do you loosen up when you [are] about to go into a ring in front of all those people and stuff?"

Tammy went on to say that he knew that both himself and Jay were participating in the Fight For Life for the right reasons. He believes that he probably would have made it about himself if he had done this fight twenty years ago.

"...it [] just keep coming back to that saying, you know, why am I doing this? It's not about me. It's about setting an example and I knew [Jay Reeve] felt the same. That's why we could both leave that ring with pride. because it wasn't about us. Twenty years younger, it would have been about me."
