A Canadian traveler has had his mind blown by the ultimate Kiwi feed – a mince and cheese pie with a green V combo.
Eric Doull is currently living in NZ and making the most of trying classic Kiwi snacks in a 20-part series on TikTok.
Early on, Eric was told to grab the combo from the dairy. Instead, he opted for a petrol station – more gourmet, IMO.
So off he went, returning to his car and cracking open a green V and a piping hot pie.
“There’s no flavour on here which I find scary,” Eric said studying the energy drink can.
“Oh, damn. Oh, Shit. That’s good,” he confirmed after taking a few swigs.
Taking a big ol’ bite into the pie, the tasty sensation of mince, gravy, and cheese took his breath away.
The speechless reaction said it all, but Eric had to write “God bless NZ” before he could actually begin to form words again.
“Bro, what the f**k do you guys put in these things?” he asked, staring into the soul of the pastry filling.
Going in for another bite, he quickly realised his mouth temperature rose to “approx 9000°C”.
Yeah, sorry buddy. As Kiwis, it’s our duty to have warned you to always blow on the pie – safer communities together, my guy.
“I genuinely feel bad for all the people back home in Canada who don’t get to have these all the time,” Eric said. “This is going to be a daily occurrence.”
Eric rated both the pie and the V an 8.5/10 each – solid and fair.
With the official stamp of approval, many Kiwis jumped into the comments to big up Eric on his journey to becoming an honourary NZer.
“Watching the world fall in love with NZ pies never gets old,” said one commenter.
“This video makes me happy as a Kiwi,” another added.
“A lot of love is what we put in our pies... Pie is life here in NZ,” said a third. Eric replied, “I can tell.”
Right, now I want to see Eric munch into a Jelly Tip, Whittaker's chocolate, and wash it down with some L&P.
