Air NZ looking for hero who shouted 'big KFC feed' to stranded passengers at AKL airport

Not all heroes wear capes.

Air New Zealand’s Grabaseat crew is on the hunt for a real legend of the people - an anonymous traveller who hooked up some hungry passengers with a KFC feed.

During yesterday morning’s delays caused by a network outage at Auckland Airport, this mystery hero went all out feeding fellow passengers - one who’d been waiting since 4:30am with a hungry teen in tow.

Apparently, the water and snacks provided by airport staff weren’t doing the trick, so receiving some finger-licking chook was a blessing.

To say thanks for the kind deed, Grabaseat and KFC wanna hook this top-notch Kiwi up with a reward - Domestic flights to any KFC spot in Aotearoa and a $500 voucher.

Air New Zealand’s General Manager of Domestic flights, Scott Carr,  reckons this selfless act deserves to be in the spotlight.

"Travel disruption can be stressful, but this generous soul decided to wing it and bring the joy,” he said.

It’s rare to see someone share a feast in the face of frustration, and we’re cluckin’ proud to reward them for spreading the love.

If you were at the airport or know who this kind human was, shout ‘em out - ‘cause their generosity should be repaid.

"We’ve all experienced those moments where a small act of kindness makes a big difference," added Carr. "This is one of those moments, and we think it deserves to be celebrated with a side of applause."

Next time you feel like Karen-ing out over flight delays, remember the kind deeds of this good rooster.
