Simon Barnett’s ‘touching’ tribute to his late wife Jodi on his return ‘home’ to More FM

After six years away, Simon Barnett is back with Lana and The Breakfast Club, returning ‘home’ to the show he’d been a part of for nearly two decades.

“The reason I’ve come back to More FM is because it is my home,” Si said.

He said he feels “very privileged and humbled to be back here” and expressed his thanks to the listeners for their love and support, adding that it “meant the world to me because it meant the world to my daughters.”

He also opened up about his reason for coming back: “I’m trying to find my life again.”

During his first show back, Si paid tribute to his late wife, Jodi, who passed away in October 2023 after a long, brave battle with brain cancer.

He described her as “the most loyal fan to me and the most loyal listener to More FM.”

“Today was the first morning I'd ever worked on more of him, that I didn't have my wife ring me and say, Hi, sweetheart,” he added.

Si described Jodi as someone whose “greatest desire was not to have her name in lights. She simply lived for her children, me, her friends, and her faith – and that was it.”

“She cared very little about wanting to leave a legacy, but unbeknownst to her, she’s left the greatest legacy of all as the most wonderful mother and wife.”

Si got emotional, saying: “I miss her more than I could ever express. Jodi was and is forever my wife, my hero, and truly the person that I respect and admire more than anyone on this planet.”

Lana and The Breakfast Club are thrilled to have Si back and are dedicated to being a positive, supportive team for him.

“I promise you, that the home will be warm and we will laugh,” Lana said. “That is my mission.”
