Many of us can relate to feeling bitter about an ex who effed you over - you can't help but think about all the time you spent together, all the compromises you made, all the thoughtful gifts you gave them.
But what if one of those gifts was one of your vital organs?
It sounds crazy, but that's what happened to TikToker Collen Le, whose story of donating a kidney to her partner went viral when she revealed he went on to cheat on her after the transplant.
"Excited my boyfriend gets a second chance at life after getting my kidney," She captioned the first part of the clip, before jumping face down on the bed as the caption reads: "Cheats on me."
Yep, messed up doesn't even begin to cover it.
Buzzfeed chatted to Colleen about the situation, where she explained she decided to donate her kidney to her boyfriend in 2015 after a few months of dating.
"At the time we met, he was already going through peritoneal dialysis, which meant his kidney function was already at less than 5%, so I felt like it was urgent and he needed a kidney as soon as possible," she explained. Colleen said it was totally her choice to donate a kidney, but added that while her boyfriend didn't ask her outright, he had "opened the door" for her to get tested by showing her brochures on how to find out if she was a match.
"I saw how his day-to-day was and how much he was struggling health-wise so that already convinced me to want to help him the best way I can," she said. What a bloody sweetheart.
Seven months after the operation, which was a success, Colleen said her then-boyfriend came home after being away at a bachelor party and admitted to cheating on her. "My initial reaction was hurt and betrayal," she said.
"He was a hardcore Christian and always stuck to his morals throughout our relationship, so it definitely shocked me that he would betray me like that after everything I've done for him.
Colleen actually tried to give her BF another chance, but three months later they broke up for good, and he blocked her number and all of her social media accounts.
"I really thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with him and loved him so much that I saved his life," she said.
"Just the fact that he cut ties with me so easily and made me feel like I never existed in his life was really hard to get over."
Of course old mate got in touch again after a couple of months (ain't that always the way?) and asked Colleen to get lunch around the year anniversary of her kidney donation. DUDE.
Colleen didn't respond (yes, queen) because she felt he only reached out "out of guilt". Amazingly, despite everything, she told Buzzfeed she doesn't regret giving her ex one of her kidneys.
"Despite the outcome of everything, I still wouldn't take back saving his life," she said.
