Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder has touched down in Auckland town.
Ahead of the iconic band’s Mt Smart gig this Friday, Vedder has been spotted enjoying a sunny afternoon down at the Viaduct.
He stopped for a photo with none other than Opshop’s Jason Kerrison, Hamish Gee from the Feelers, and Andy Lynch from Zed.
These Kiwi legends make up the supergroup Treble Makers who are currently playing at Head Quarters bar.
“Total legend,” they posted on their Instagram Story.
Kerrison shared the picture on his own Instagram, writing: “Guess who?! We're all just chilling out and someone came over to say I was a great singer…”
“I said ‘I learnt to sing from listening to your first records, brother,” he added.
While it was just a quick photo-op, Kerrison added that Vedder would be “coming back for the set....eeek.”
Fans have jumped in the comments to buzz for the blokes.
“What are the odds? What a beautiful thing to be told before your gig,” one person wrote.
“The smiles say it all!! Awesome lads,” said another.
A third joked: “If you need a hand with Black let me know mate.”
Before they touched down in the City of Sails, Delta flight attendant Leslee Leaf shared her own Vedder moment.
“All of my VIPs on board today were the fabulous band @pearljam!!” She wrote. “They were so nice and polite.”
After talking to the band's frontman throughout the flight she said that while landing, he had written her a kind note on a napkin and gifted a few of his guitar picks.
With a couple of days left before the gig, we’ll be keeping an eye out for any more Pearl Jam sightings around the city.
