Earlier in the year, unbeknownst to Manunui Station Manger Carlos Segura, Silver Fern Farms entered some of the beef from his Angus Heifers into the World Steak Challenge, eventually coming away with a silver for the Eye Fillet and a bronze for the Rib Eye.
Segura delves into Manunui's sustainable farming practices, emphasising minimal intervention and reliance on pasture due to challenging clay soil.
He also talks about the management of the livestock on Manunui Station, referencing the specific drenching practices, pre-slaughter routines and the relationship with Silver Fern Farms.
