Everyone and their dog has been strutting around in Hallensteins' comfort clothing line. Wherever you turn, a hoodie scribed with 'Leisure Club' is IN YOUR FACE!
While the sweats range has been around for well over a year, it began trending big time with Kiwis earlier this year.
It's like the entire country collectively decided these sweatshirts and trackies are the go-to fits for everything from gym sessions to shopping runs in 2024.
One Kiwi has proved the point with a single trip to the mall. "POV you live in NZ," TikTok user Ezzil wrote. "Leisure club is taking over."
Ezzil captured a bunch of youguns all wearing the clothing line around a Palmerston North shopping centre and they all had one thing in common - they were all sporting 'Leisure Club'.
One commenter hilariously compared the clip to the Kathmandu puffer jacket era of the early 2010s, and if you lived through that, I get it, and I salute you.
While Hallensteins is known for being a men's clothing store, it hasn't stopped the gals from grabbing themselves a hoodie or two.
Why? 'Leisure Club' is giving popular Aussie clothing brand White Fox a run for its money.
While White Fox is super cute, it's HELLA expenny. And at almost half the price for the same vibe, it's a more affordable choice for the gals.
'Love Island AU' contestants Mitch Hibberd and Aaron Waters have been seen strutting their stuff in these fits, and even the NZ Warriors are wearing them - if the Wahs have anything to do with it, you know people will jump on the bandwagon.
So, what's the verdict? Are we jumping on the 'Leisure Club' hype or will we let this trend join the pile of regrettable fashion choices?
