LEGO NZ's newest ambassador 'Kiwi Modular' is living our childhood dream

Can you imagine making LEGO for 40 hours?

One 25-year-old Kiwi is proving you're never too old to live your childhood dreams after becoming Lego NZ's newest ambassador.

Jacob Hawkins shares his passion for all things Lego on his 'Kiwi Modulars' YouTube Channel, Instagram and TikTok accounts.

While anyone can apply to be a Lego ambassador, Jacob explained that being Kiwi made him stand out.

Jacob told us it all started with getting his first Lego set as a two-year-old saying "I got Lego sets for my birthday and Christmas up until I was 11."

Although Jacob's passion for Lego dwindled throughout High School, a visit to the Auckland Lego store reignited his love for the popular toy and its more intricate 'modular sets' aimed at those of us who describe ourselves as big kids.

"I just saw so many sets that were targeted to Adults, that I just fell in love with it again and the rest is history," he said.

Explaining the appeal to adults, Jacob added: "They're very detailed interior and exterior buildings that look really nice on display."

"Once you buy one, you realise there is another you need to collect," Jacob said.

Jacob uploaded his first YouTube video back in May 2023 and has since gained a community of over 80,000 Lego lovers.

Jacob recently took things to another level by creating as many Lego sets as he could in this year's World Vision 40-Hour Challenge.

He built 18 sets in total and streamed the entire event on YouTube.

We can't wait to see what the Kiwi Lego star builds next!
