Laneway 2025: What you need to know for the Western Springs festival

Schedule times, parking, public transport and more!

It's back and it's BRAT! Laneway Festival is returning to Auckland for 2025, bringing a hot line-up of artists to Western Springs Stadium on Thursday, 6th February. From Djo's first NZ performance to headliner Charli xcx's first trip back since Laneway 2020, this year's festival has so much to offer!

Here's everything you need to know to make the most of this iconic event!

Set Times

Gates open at 12:30 PM and the festival finishes at 10PM

The Box Office will be open from 12PM if you have any ticketing issues.

Public Transport

While there isn't special event transport for Laneway, public transport will still run on Waitangi Day. For those who train, the closest is Morningside Station - a 30-minute walk away. Bus routes 11T, 11W and 18 will be the services that get you closest to Western Springs Stadium.

For detailed routes and schedules, Auckland Transport is the best place to check.

Parking & Road Closures

Parking around Western Springs can be limited with road closures in the area and no on-site stadium parking.

Road closures on February 6th include:

Bullock Track & Stadium Drive: Closed midday – 11:30 PM

Great North Road (St Lukes Rd to Surrey Cres) & Tuarangi Rd: Closed 8:30 PM – 11:30 PM

If you prefer to drive, be prepared for potential delays and plan to arrive early to secure a spot.

Ticketing

The final release of Laneway Festival tickets is still available to purchase online. If you've already grabbed your tickets, barcodes have now been unlocked, which means if you've bought for your mate, you'll be able to share their individual ticket with them for their own phone pass. Make sure you have valid R18+ ID too!

Things to Note

To make it easy to enter Laneway when the gates open, keep the following in mind:

  • Prohibited Items. Leave these at home:

    • Glass or breakable containers

    • Cans or metal canisters

    • Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, bicycles

    • Chairs (folding, portable, camping) or any other furniture

    • Anything studded or spiked (belts, wristbands, etc.) or large chains

    • Weapons of any kind

    • Flares, fireworks, smoke bombs, or any other explosive devices

    • Alcohol

    • Illicit drugs or paraphernalia

    • Professional cameras (with detachable lenses)

    • Umbrellas (bring a plastic poncho or raincoat instead)

    • Drones

  • Re-Entry Policy: Once you're in, you're in. There are no pass-outs, so plan accordingly.

  • Weather Preparedness: The festival will run rain or shine. Check the forecast and dress best for the weather!

  • Hydration: Free drinking water stations are available throughout the site. You can bring a clear, empty water bottle (non-metal) to fill up and stay hydrated.

  • ID Requirements: Since the event is 18+, ensure you bring valid photo ID. Accepted forms include a current passport, New Zealand photo driver licence, or Kiwi Access Card.
