KFC launches airline to fly Kiwi Super Rugby fans direct to games on a private jet

Gotta give them credit for coming up with that name too.

Some lucky Super Rugby fans are about to take their game-day experience to new heights - quite literally.

Loyalty has been recognised by KFC, who are set to transport fans to matches via private flights around the country.

Zing Air (get it?) is a kitted out airline flying Kiwis straight to some of the biggest Super Rugby matches of the season.

You can't just book a seat though, Zing Air is only giving out tickets on the KFC App. You just have to add a boarding pass to your cart for your shot at living the high life.

It’s on now, so if you’re lucky enough to snag one, you and a mate could get flown to a match, a night’s accommodation, premium seats, and, of course, a feast of the Colonel’s finest chook.

The first flight takes off on Saturday, March 1st, heading to Wellington’s Sky Stadium for the Hurricanes vs. Blues match.

Four more flights will be taking off throughout the season. From Auckland to Wellington, or Hamilton to Dunedin, the flights will be departing from some major cities.

And if you’re wondering about the environmental impact, don’t stress. All Zing Air flights are carbon neutral.

Restaurant Brands Chief Executive Arif Khan reckons Zing Air is an epic way to bring rugby fans together: “Both KFC and rugby bring people together."

"Last year, we delivered fans to the game via the KFC Gravy Train. Now, with Zing Air, we’re taking things up a notch - bringing fans closer to the action, both on the field and in the sky," he added.

Whether you’re backing the Blues, Hurricanes, Chiefs, Highlanders, or Crusaders, check to see if a flight is taking off from your hometown.

This might be as close as we’ll ever get to lifestyles of the rich and famous.
