From Kitchen Novice To Cookbook Author: Michelle Forde's Culinary Journey

"I put my heart and soul into it and thought there's probably people out there who struggle with ideas to feed shearers," Forde reflects.

Michelle Ford discusses her transformation from a reluctant cook to a celebrated cookbook author.

Her book, 'Cooking for Shearing Gangs', emerged from the necessity to feed hardworking shearers with hearty, carb-rich meals.

Initially hesitant, Forde says she embraced the challenge and created recipes like the popular Forde McMuffin to energise shearers through their demanding workdays.

She offers some practical tips for those looking to take inspiration from her book including preparing meals ahead of time using crockpots and keeping a variety of frozen slices for emergencies.
