Brook Gibson attempts to pedal boat across lake Taupō for Movember challenge

“One Bloke, One Month, One Cause. Keen!”

George Drive’s very own Brook Gibson has been putting in the mahi this month, taking big strides to raise awareness for men’s health during Movember. The annual event helps highlight men's health issues by encouraging the lads to grow a mo over the month and spark up those tough conversations.

In classic Brook fashion, growing a mo was not enough. In previous years he’s mowed 30 lawns over the 30 days - capping things off with Mt. Smart No. 1- and this year he’s got big plans once again. He took to social media to drop a few hints….

Its got something to do with me, Lake Taupō and hopefully a tail wind

Thus, the MO-TO-BOAT was born! Only Brook Gibson could come up with a loose operation like this, right?

2024 could be the biggest challenge yet. I’ll tackle Lake Taupō from bottom to top in a humble pedal boat. Powered by my pins and a whole bunch of mana.

With Taupō Pedal Boats coming to the party, Brook will be legging 40ish km in a self propelled water bike.

Torpedo7 jumped on board making sure that Brook was well equipped.

Documenting  his training and prep, Brook is set to sail early Wednesday the 27th of November from Pukawa Boat Ramp to 2 Mile Bay Sailing Club. Tune in to George FM socials to keep up with the shenanigans.

Also if you haven’t already, jump on over to Brooks Movember Page and show some support for an awesome cause. We’re all so proud of Brook and his contributions to Movember and mental health awareness in general. Go get em boy!
