Queensland Health has taken hygiene education to a new (and very cheesy) level with their latest Instagram post on penis-washing.
A cartoon of a charcuterie board featuring the usual go-tos, including gouda and brie cheese, was enough to get us hooked. But it was the smegma admitting, "I think I'm in the wrong place," that stopped people scrolling.
“While smegma has a cheese-like consistency, you don't want it on your cheese board! 🧀,” the post graphically read.
Since we’re already here, we’ll share the informational side. The post continued: “It's a thick, whitish discharge made of dead skin cells, oil and other fluids found in the genital area. It can often collect under the foreskin.”
“Having smegma is completely normal — it even plays an important role in protecting and lubricating the penis! But, if you have a lot of smegma or it's smelly, it might be a sign you need to wash your penis more often. 🍆🧼.”
As you can imagine, the comment section naturally turned into an unhinged competition of who could make the best cheese pun.
WARNING: If you are snacking on any cheese at the moment, this is your cue to put it down!
“It may not be 12 inches… but it sure smells like a foot,” one commenter painted an unfortunate picture in our heads.
“Sweet baby cheesus,” said another, before a third reminded “There is a line…”
“This is not the type of charcuterie board I go to parties for :(,“ another disappointed user wrote.
It was a mix of laughter and horror, with one user saying: “I don't think I wanna eat cheese anymore....”
One person asked simply: “How do I delete someone else’s post.”
Others praised the social media team, because no matter how rank the post was, it provided at least a good 15 minutes of entertainment.
“That’s a 'grate' way to spread the message—sharp, informative, and cheesy in all the right ways! 🧀📲,” one commenter wrote.
Another added: “Imagine the graphic design person getting the brief for this job 😂.”
“Queensland Health winning the internet today 🥇,” said a third.
Now, is the concerning part that all I can think about now is cheese?! Anyone keen for a toastie after that?
