British lad lived to 78 without realising he had three penises his whole life

Experts were shocked to find not one, not two, but three penises on a British bloke, who’s believed to have not known just how much he was packing down there his entire life.

The 78 year old donated his body to the University of Birmingham Medical School, where students discovered a ‘remarkable anatomical variation’ that has only ever been discovered in one other human before - three penises.

According to the Journal of Medical Case Reports, the bloke’s genitalia appeared normal from the outside, but to the amazement of experts, he had two extra wee fellas hiding within his scrotum, which would explain why he could've gone through his whole life not realising.

The official diagnosis is called triphallia, which in a nutshell means ‘triple penis.’

Looking at the diagram, the pink area labelled as number 10 shows the secondary penis, while the green area labelled as number 6 shows the third one. I’m sure you can figure out what the primary penis is.

The experts offered an explanation for how this came to be - and bare with me while I try my best to explain it to you...

During pregnancy, genitals usually start to develop around 4 to 7 weeks, with the penis forming from a part called the genital tubercle. In this bloke’s case, a genetic issue caused the genital tubercle to split into three, which resulted in two members forming internally, and his main member forming externally.

The urethra, which carries the urine, originally developed in the second penis, but due to that penis not fully forming, instead it diverted its course and developed in the primary penis. The third penis was essentially just a spare from the split.

The experts noted, "If the defect had been noticed during his life, it may have simply been left untouched due to the apparent lack of symptoms and its benign nature."

But they also pointed out that there is a chance the bloke may have experienced urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction or fertility issues because of the condition. This is hard to know though, as the only information the experts know about this fella is he was a white man, late 70s, and was six feet tall.  Since discovering this, experts have noted that triphallia could just be more common than they initially thought. Interesting!
