Will Smith smacks Chris Rock in the face over joke about wife Jada at The Oscars

The actor did not take the comedian's joke kindly.

Actor Will Smith has completely lost it at comedian Chris Rock live on TV during The Oscars.

The 57-year-old comedian was on stage at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre to present the Best Documentary Feature prize on Sunday (local time) when he mocked some of the famous faces in the crowd, and the 'King Richard' actor took offense when Chris poked fun at his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's shaven-headed look.

Warning, the following video is uncensored:

Although Will laughed at first, Jada looked unimpressed and Will then walked to the stage, punched the presenter and walked away again. Chris said: "Oh Wow. Will Smith just smacked the s***t out of me."

Will then shouted from his seat: "Take my wife's name out of your f****** mouth." Chris said: "Wow dude. It was a 'G.I. Jane' joke." The 'Men in Black' host then again said: "Keep my wife's name out of your f****** mouth." Chris appeared stunned as he said: "I'm going to OK... I'll keep going? That was, er, the greatest night in the history of television. Okay."

Fellow actors Denzel Washington, Bradley Cooper, and Tyler Perry were seen appearing to console Will after the incident.

Jada Pinkett Smith in recent times has been an advocate for the awareness of alopecia, and has been open about her hair loss struggles.

"Look at this line right here," the 50-year-old actress said as she pointed to her scalp. "Now this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide, so I thought I'd just share it so y'all not asking any questions — but you know, mama's going to put some rhinestones in there, and I'm going to make me a little crown."
