After missing 2023, Billie Eilish is finally back with her eighth annual Vanity Fair interview, and dare I say it, it’s one of the best yet.
Over the years, we've watched Billie grow up before our very eyes through these interviews – from her 15-year-old self to the confident and admirable 22-year-old she is today.
In this year's chat, Billie shared how her 2024 has been, and it sounds wholesome asf. She touches on some major milestones, including playing Brazil for the first time, hitting Coachella, going diamond with 'Bad Guy', and somehow squeezing in an Oscar win for 'What Was I Made For?' - no big deal right?
"I finally played Brazil, Labrinth. Yep, live at the O2. Yeah, Coachella. Bad Guy went diamond.”
She gets into how overwhelming life on tour can be, and how she’s flipped the script by turning it into something she genuinely enjoys. “Touring doesn't have to be miserable, and I don't have to just sit through it and take it, I can make it fun, I mean, I'm the fucking boss for God's sake.” she says—an absolute BOSS move.
She also opens up about the more emotional side of the year, sharing how she's made new friends, reunited with old ones, and embraced what she calls a “year of friendship.”
“I've done nothing but make friends all year, and gotten so close with people that I wasn't with before and became friends with people I used to be friends with again, and just like, it's just been a year filled with friendship.”
She casually mentions that she's the most streamed artist on Spotify: "I have the most monthly listeners, right, on Spotify in the entire world. So I surpassed 100 million monthly listeners, and then now I am the most streamed artist in the world on Spotify.” No big deal.
Let’s be real for a second, like probably a lot of us, she also hoped for a lot of sex this year. And lucky her, she got it. “Yes, I’ve had a lot of good sex.” GET IT BILLIE.
If I could ask for one thing for Christmas, it’s that Billie keeps doing these for as LONG as she can.
