'MasterChef AU' might've found the perfect celeb judge to replace the late Jock Zonfrillo

A familiar face could be joining current judges Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.

Ever since the sudden and tragic passing of Masterchef judge Jock Zonfrillo earlier this year, fans of the showhave been asking the question: Will he be replaced, and if so, by who?

Well, while no one could truly take Jock's place on the show, it appears Channel Ten might've found someone who could step in seamlessly alongside the current judges Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.

Insiders told Woman's Day there's a whopping $2 million deal on the table to bring British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver on board to fill Jock's shoes.

The network is reportedly in talks to secure Jamie, who had a lot of love for Jock as a fellow chef, and has previously taken part in Masterchef Australia as one of the show's many illustrious guest judges.

He made a memorable appearance alongside Jock, Melissa, and Andy in the most recent season of the show.

In "total shock" after Jock's passing, Jamie took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to the "special" chef.

"I'm in total shock to wake up to the sudden death of chef Jock Zonfrillo," he said on social media. "We had the best time working together for this year's MasterChef, I can't tell how good it was to work with him!"

"Jock was very generous to me with his time and spirit in the show and for that, I was really grateful."

He added: "Mellisa, Andy & Jock work as the most inspiring judges and mentors and each has their very own unique view and style."

"Jock will be so very missed, I can't believe I'm writing this. Sending heartfelt love and condolences to all of his family, friends and his second family, the 'MasterChef' team and contestants xxx. Love Jamie," he finished.

With Jamie Oliver potentially joining the MasterChef Australia family as a permanent judge, there's no doubt that the show will continue to thrive.
