Guns N’ Roses announce drummer Frank Ferrer is leaving the band

He’d been the sticksman for nearly 20 years.

Guns N’ Roses have released a statement after parting ways with their longest-standing drummer.

Frank Ferrer, 58, is officially moving on, in what appears to be an amicable exit.”

Details were next to none, but the band released a statement:

“Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer, the longest-serving drummer in their storied run.

“The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.

“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.

“His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico.”

His 2006 debut came as a temporary replacement for Bryan ‘Brain’ Mantia on tour, who left to take care of his newborn, but Ferrer rocked so hard he stayed on permanently.

His exit leaves the band standing at Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fotus and Melissa Reese, who will embark on their wicked 2025 Europe and Middle East tour in May. Saudi Arabia will host their opening night.

Fans wasted no time expressing who they want the replacement to be, the favourite being ex-member Matt Sorum.

“Bring Matt Sorum right back on, please!” one fan wrote on Instagram. Another was so bold to tag Sorum’s instagram, and simply say: “Welcome back”.

Despite the speculation, there are no details about who would take over, or what Ferrer’s next move is.
