NZ First MP Highlights Resilience In The Face Of Adversity For Rain-Damaged South

"Farmers reacted brilliantly to the flooding events," Patterson says.

As devastating wet weather has ravaged large parts of the Southern-most areas of the country over the last week, NZ First MP Mark Patterson and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon were both in Dunedin to see the damage for themselves and connect with local communities who have been hit the hardest.

Despite these challenges, Patterson celebrates the resilience and unity of rural communities, also noting the closure of the Alliance plant in Timaru has added economic strain, but the enduring hope and solidarity among farmers remains a beacon of strength.

Patterson underscores the need for community support and effective responses to nature's unpredictable challenges, painting a hopeful picture for New Zealand's farming future.
