The 2024 Sika Show at Mystery Creek, now the largest hunting trade show in the Southern Hemisphere, has drawn over 10,000 attendees, including prominent figures like Prime Minister Luxon and the newly appointed Minister of Hunting and Fishing, Todd McClay.
In an exciting announcement, Minister McClay unveiled the Nationwide Access Charter for Recreational Hunting and Fishing on Public Conservation Land and Waters.
Tim Gale, General Manager of the Game Animal Council, highlights the significance of this charter.
He says this initiative aims to improve access and foster collaboration between hunters, fishers, and conservation efforts, ensuring the continued growth and sustainability of New Zealand's outdoor traditions.
Commenting on the Sika Show event itself, Gale expresses his pleasure at the turnout, particularly the number of families that attended from up and down the country.
