Louis Baker releases a soul-stirring and deeply personal single and video, 'Brighter Day'. The brand new single draws on the experiences of Baker's grandfather Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Baker who served in the 28th Maori Battalion.

"I was inspired to write a song for my koro Frederick Baker who was a commanding officer in the 28th Maori Battalion. He went through many harrowing things, including being shot through the face and learning how to speak again. He worked in Rehabilitation for those returning from WWII, and was also a Public Services Commissioner from 1954-58 where he was an advocate of equal rights for Maori." - Louis Baker
