11 year old guitarist nails AC/DC, Van Halen and Queen to win Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent

Olly Pearson is going straight to the semi finals for his epic performance.

An 11-year-old guitarist scored himself the Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent this week, after shredding some AC/DC, Van Halen and Queen.

Olly Pearson, from Wales, took to the BGT stage holding his Patrick Eggle guitar that his grandad bought for him, and admitted to the judges that he was feeling nervous. When he was asked what his ambition in life is, he replied, “to become the best guitarist in the world.”

He ripped into AC/DC’s Highway To Hell, while he shuffled around the stage in an Angus Young style - who he previously said is his favourite guitarist. He nailed the riff, then lunged into Van Halen’s Jump, where he literally jumped all over the stage, before capping his medley off with Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now guitar solo.

The young lad nailed the whole performance - at one point, he got up close and personal with the judges, shredding the guitar right in front of them.

The crowd and judges were all blown away by the epic performance, so much so that judge Amanda Holden hit the Golden Buzzer, which is Olly’s ticket to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.

Olly’s grandad and guitar teacher Lee, who was waiting on the side of the stage during the performance, ran onto the stage to give a tearful hug to his grandson while he told him, “How good is that?!”

Holden told the young guitarist, “Oh my god, Olly. Literally, a star is born. I have never, ever seen anything like that in my life.”

Simon Cowell also offered some high praise, saying, “You already have your own distinct sound, which normally people take decades [to find]. You’re that good! That was brilliant.”

What a wholesome watch. Good shit, Olly!

This isn’t the first time that a youngin has impressed the judges on the ‘Got Talent’ series.

Last year, 10 year old Maya Neelakantan’s guitar performance of Papa Roach’s Last Resort earned herself three yeses and high praise from the judges on America’s Got Talent - check it out here.
