Is live-action Pinocchio going be too freaky? Check out the trailer for yourself

How will it compare 82 years later?

The trailer for the live-action remake of Pinnochio has just dropped, and it's got many fans reminiscing about weekend mornings spent watching Disney classics.

The teaser clip gives us a good look at Tom Hanks as Geppetto and Jiminy Cricket voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but we only get a glimpse of the star of the show!

Now fans are starting to question whether the new computer-generated puppet will live up to the original or if the technology has taken it a step too far.

"I'm scared not even Tom Hanks can save the horror of what Pinocchio might look like," one YouTube commenter wrote.

"Place your bets on how freaky Pinocchio is gonna be," another said.

"They should've left Pinocchio alone! The animal characters based on these few clips look so creepy and fake," a third chimed in."

Zemeckis' Pinocchio is a remake of the 1940 Disney animated film, which was based on the 1883 Italian book The Adventures of Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi.

Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco also star in the film alongside Luke Evans, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who are the voices of Pinocchio.

With a cast as good as that, all we can do now is wish upon a star that our Disney classic is still as magical as we remember!
