Gamers get ready cause it's sounding like GTA 6 is coming next year

Oi de oi!

Every gaming publication in the world reckons the next edition of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is coming to our consoles next year.

Take-Two, the parent company of 'Rockstar' (who make GTA), sent out a press release with their yearly earnings that included predictions on how much moolah they'll make in the coming years. Basically, they see themselves rolling in the dosh thanks to some big releases over the next fiscal year (which starts April 2024).

"For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success," the release reads.

"In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow."

And what would a "groundbreaking title" be? How about the sequel to one of the top three best-selling video games of all time, GTA V. The fifth edition of GTA is still being played by hundreds of thousands of people after almost a decade since it came out (September 2013).

As IGN point out, there's a slim chance that one or even a few new games will be able to net Take-Two billions of dollars in 12 months. Therefore, the theory is that GTA VI is on the way.

Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick "declined to confirm or deny" the theory when asked by IGN. What we do know is that the game is in active development since at least last year.

Some early gameplay also got leaked online last year, which is a massive no-no for all involved with making the game. So much so that the FBI got involved to look for whoever did the leak.

Fingers crossed we are getting it next year cause boy oh boy it's been a while.
