Donna Smit, Trustee of the Dairy Women's Network (DWN), expressed her enthusiasm for the calibre of this year's nominees, emphasising the diverse array of talents and skills they bring to the table.

"It is nice to see a good spread of capable grassroots farmers, inspiring leaders, and rural professionals who have contributed so much to the industry being nominated," Smit remarked.

The recipient of the Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year award is not only honoured for her achievements but is also granted a scholarship to participate in the prestigious Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme. This scholarship covers the program fee, travel, accommodation, and mentoring, and provides access to DWN and Fonterra's platforms to share research, enhancing the winner's ability to make an even greater impact in the industry.

Judges for the award, comprising representatives from Dairy Women's Network, Fonterra, Rural Leaders, Ballance Agri-Nutrients, and a previous recipient of the accolade, will meticulously assess the finalists based on various criteria.
