Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper and more join together for new song 'Gonna Be You'

What a line up!

What more could you ask for when you get some of your favourite legendary singers together!

Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, and Blondie's Debbie Harry have teamed up together to form a superwomen's music group, performing a new single titled 'Gonna Be You'.

The upbeat, 80's influenced synth-pop track is for an upcoming American comedy film '80 for Brady', which is set to star Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field.

The song is said to be a celebration of "deep friendship", inspired by the film's plot which sees four best friends travel together to watch the 2017 Super Bowl featuring NFL star Tom Brady.

Songwriter Diane Warren, who is responsible for writing such hits like Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time', Celine Dion's 'Because You Loved Me', and Aerosmith's 'I Don't To Miss A Thing', is also behind this track. In a statement about the song, she wrote that the movie title gave her the idea to ask these big names to sing on the track.

"Since 80 was in the title I got a crazy idea, why not get some of the most iconic singers from the '80s, who are still amazing and always will be, to all sing it?"

"Everyone I approached said yes and was just as excited as me!" she said, adding how honoured she was for their contributions.
