Four New Zealand farming leaders were awarded 2025 Nuffield New Zealand Farming Scholarships in Wellington earlier this week.
AgProud NZ Chair Jon Pemberton is one of the four and tells Dom he was inspired by past scholars to apply for the scholarship to explore global agricultural practices with a $50,000 grant.
He says his focus is on developing nature-based solutions for environmental challenges and creating sustainable farming communities in New Zealand.
Pemberton delves into his plans to visit the US and Europe, aiming to learn from their agricultural systems and avoid past mistakes.
He also explains how he is particularly keen on understanding the dynamics between farmers and governments in Holland.
