Nothing says redemption quite like earning a perfect 20 out of 20 score!
The Block NZ: Redemption season ten has brought back four fan-favourite teams to have a second crack at renovating an entire property in 12 weeks. And it seems their experience has given them a great advantage, with teams producing some of the highest-scoring bathrooms the show has ever seen.
Week three of The Block NZ season 10 saw Blue Team's Chloe & Ben win family bathroom week with a perfect 20 out of 20 from judges Shelley Ferguson and Jason Bonham, beating their closest competition by 1.5 points.
The mates, who previously competed in opposing teams in season 7, produced a bathroom the judges described as "fantastic" and like a "high-end hotel."
"The way they've done this, from the texture of the vanity, the nice choice of stone, the organic shapes of the basin, and the bathtub just add that beautiful, soft element with the curves of the wall," judge Jason praised.
But while teammate Ben Speedy had initially proposed to shave off his iconic moustache if the team achieved a perfect result, the design director was against shaving it in the end.
"I had a good discussion with [my moustache] last night, and it said 'Don't shave me," he told teammate Chloe.
"I didn't know your mo could talk," she quipped.
"Trust me, it can do a lot of things," Ben joked.
The four teams, currently renovating new development housing in Orewa, north of Auckland, will use week four to tackle a sitting/study room in their upstairs landing.
